Awards to Ellen Driscoll for Works on View at AAAS
Prospectus artist Ellen Driscoll’s Wraith, a major new sculpture made of #2 plastic, and her 2013 drawings done in Rome, have been honored with awards from the Academy of Arts and Letters; additionally, the drawings have been selected for one of the Academy’s Purchase awards. These works were part of the Academy’s “Invitational Exhibition of Visual Arts” March 6 – April 12, 2014, which included more than 120 paintings, sculptures, photographs and works on paper by 37 contemporary artists chosen from a pool of nearly 150 nominees submitted by the 250 members of the Academy.
Along with other award-winning work from the exhibition and work by new Academy members, Ellen’s sculpture and drawings remained on view at the Academy galleries (Audubon Terrace, also know as Broadway, between 155 and 156 Streets, NYC). until June 20, 2014.
